YAY Southern California and Disneyland!!!

I am currently in San Diego...... the first part of my big adventure.

First off, let me say that packing sucks. I used those space saver bags and I felt that they didn't save much space whatsoever. I don't know cuz I didn't pack my suitcase the other way to see but I may just do that before I actually leave for New Zealand just to see if it's any easier for me. I only got about one hour of sleep. That sucked. Then, when I got to the airport my suitcase was 12 pounds over weight. That sucked. I said that was fine and I'll pay the fee for it but then she told me it was 50 bucks. That sucked. So she told me I could go over to the gift shop and buy a bag to transfer some of my stuff into it. The bag cost me 18 bucks. Cheaper than 50 bucks but I still had to buy a 2nd bag. That sucked. Then I had to figure out what would be the best things to transfer into that bag so that I could get enough weight out of the suitcase. That sucked. Then I realized that I left some things back at home. That sucked.

But then things turned out better cuz I got enough weight out of the suitcase and I didn't have to pay the 50 dollar fee. And I packed that thing to the brim. I'm surprised that the zipper didn't break. Then I said goodbye to everyone. I had to say goodbye to daddy at home cuz he wasn't feeling well and decided to stay. I gave him a kiss. Then after that I went to wait for my plane which didn't take that long. I got a seat all to myself and I watched some Family Guy during the flight. The flight itself was perfect. And thank God for that cuz I hate flying. The only thing was that the seat wasn't that comfortable. But I'd rather have the smooth flight than the comfortable seat.

Donna picked me up and we went to her house to drop off my stuff. Then we went straight to the greatest place in San Diego. IN & OUT BURGER. It was the best burger I've ever had. After that we went to go see Jon, our friend that we worked with at Fillipi's. He was going to dye Donna's hair before her trip. It was good to catch up with him. He's still the same old idiot that he's always been. As you can see here:

The next day, we went to Disneyland. Curtis picked us up from Donna's and he drove us up there. The whole way he made us listen to the Fantasmic soundtrack. What an idiot. We got there at about 9 and we met up with all of my family that had traveled down to California a few days before I flew down there. It worked out perfect. Even my cousin Steve was gonna be there and he never gets to go to anything. My aunti Nicki bought all my little girl cousins princess dresses and they were gonna get their hair and makeup done at this cute store in Downtown Disney called Libby Lu. They looked so cute!!!

Then we headed over to California Adventure cuz Donna had never been there before. We took her on the roller coaster and the Maliboomer. That one is scary. We also went on the big inner tube river one where you get drenched. My entire jeans looked like they came out of the pool. So we went back to the hotel and I borrowed someone else's pants while mine dried. Then we joined my family for dinner. That was good. Then we headed back into the park. Donna got on really well with my family which I was happy about. Not that I thought she wouldn't like them I just didn't want her to be bored. This is us outside of Splash Mountain:

And this is Curtis and my cousin Steven on the ride:

Auntie Kathy and cousin David are in the back. LOL!!!

This is Donna and I after Splash Mountain. We got DRENCHED!!!

After I had my jeans dried and everything. That sucked. We went on a few more rides and then it was time to go. We were exhausted. It felt so good to lie down. Then the next day, we got up, got Starbucks and headed home. And since then I've been at Donna's. Although I'm having a good time, it's hot as hell in her room. And I found a cockroach in my bag. That sucked.

Donna and I are gonna go see the movie "The Happening" later today. It looks good. Then tomorrow I go over to Curtis' and I'm gonna see the old Mimi's crew and say goodbye to them. So that's all for now, I guess. Talk to you all laters!!!

A short break and then back to work!!!

0 °F

My good friends Melanie and Dale came up here from Arizona to meet my family and check out where I live. It was so good to see them and having them here completely put any thoughts of my New Zealand trip to the back of my head. But today they flew out and now I'm faced with daunting task of rounding up my paperwork and starting my packing. But first, a few photos from the last 5 days:

I had no idea that Idaho could be this beautiful.

How exciting. But now I have to get back to work. It feels like I have a crap load of stuff to do but it may not even be that much. It just seems like a lot since I'm gonna be gone for a long time. And in another country. I really don't know where to start. Most of the stuff will be packed the day that I leave anyway so what can I really pack now??? I don't know. It's so overwhelming!!! I'll be okay.

"......I was delayed."

Yes, I am still alive. Planning was put on hold due to my brother being in the hospital and my mother losing her job. It was about a month's worth of stress. Still a bit of stress now, but better than it was.

Long story short.........my brother went to the hospital because his heart rate was through the roof. It was so fast that the nurse couldn't even count it. I think it was around 260. Insane. So, they had to put him to sleep and shock him to get his heart rate down. It worked but the doctor kept him overnight. The next day the doctor said that he wanted to be very thorough and that he wanted to send him to Sacred Heart hospital in Spokane which is about 30 minutes away from us. They have some of the best cardiologists there. So he spent a few nights there, had some tests done and they basically diagnosed him with ventricular tachycardia. But he is the only person they have ever seen (it's not documented anywhere) to have it located on the right side of the heart. It's always found on the left side. But not with my brother. They did a 2 hour procedure where they gave him an abrasion in the area where the problem was and they said that they were completely able to cure it and they don't see any reason why he can't go on living a normal life. They also said that he will be documented in textbooks for electrophysiology. That was a trip. All in all, he was in the hospital for a week and it happened and was over with just like that. It was crazy. It's weird to think that it was a month ago already.

A week after all that happened, my mom was let go from her job. They said that she was being "too resistant" to the new system. They got the new system 8 months ago so how come it took them that long to get rid of her??? She had been with them for 6 years. She never got along with the office manager and from everything we have heard, it sounds as if they were just trying to get rid of the position all together and just trying to find some reason to get rid of her. It couldn't have come at a worse time. We're doing okay now. It's hard but we're making it. I think it'll be easier on them when I leave. One less person using the cars which means less money spent on gas. So, needless to say, it's been a hard month.

But regardless, I am still very excited for my trip and everything seems to be going smoothly. I just recently booked my one way flight to San Diego through ExpressJet. I'm stoked cuz it's a one way trip but not so stoked as it's a smaller plane. But, they DO have memory foam seats and dollar drinks so it can't be that bad. I'll just watch a movie the whole way there and hopefully it'll be a smooth flight.

Ron emailed me a few weeks ago saying that our rental car was booked and also our horse trekking tour with Dart Stables. Very cool. Can't wait to do that one. I'm sure I've said it before but I can't wait for the car ride from Christchurch to Queenstown. I'm sure the scenery will just be unbelievable. And since I have my new laptop I can upload the photos instantly and get them sent out to everyone super fast.

So there's everything......updated for your reading pleasure!!!

Loan, Laptop, Flight........DONE!!!

So, my loan was funded. That same day I went to my local MAC store and ordered my new macbook!!! And yesterday, I received it. It's the coolest thing in the history of time. I can't stop playing with it. I LOVE IT!!!

So now all the main things that I wanted to take care of on that list I made are now taken care of. Loan....check. Laptop......check. Flight......check.

And a couple of weeks ago my suitcase came in the mail. It's really cute but I'm wondering if it's a bit too big. But then I figure that since I'll be staying in one place at least one month at a time, then it should be okay. Plus, I'm gonna wanna buy new clothes when I'm there so the extra space will be nice. YAY!!! Don't you love it when everything comes together??? I sure do.

Flight is booked!!!

On Sunday, Ron booked our tickets!!! We leave for New Zealand on Saturday, June 28th!!! Woo-hoo!!! It feels so official, now. Ron will only be able to stay for 6 days which is a little disappointing but at least I'll have someone I know with me for the first week. Better than nothing, I shouldn't complain.

In other news.......my loan listing on prosper.com is now down to 10.45% interest!!! And that's going down from 17%!!! I ROCK!!! It's good to know that even if it's not at the interest rate that I want I can still get a loan anyway. I'm tellin' you, people.......prosper.com is the bomb!!!

More as it develops......... =)
